Bayern Munich's Michael Olise is willing to sign a new long-term contract with the club. However, he wants a substantial release clause included, ensuring he maintains control over his career, German media reported today.
Bayern is eager to offer Olise an upgraded contract, extending his stay until 2032 instead of 2029.
Olise currently earns 14 million euros annually, and the club is ready to increase this to over 24 million euros, aligning his salary with that of Harry Kane and Jamal Musiala.
Despite the lucrative offer, Olise's representatives remain undecided. According to Bild, Olise seeks a new contract that includes a release clause close to 200 million euros, ensuring he has the freedom to decide his future.
Olise has started the season strongly, contributing to 12 goals for Bayern in just seven matches.
Bayern Munich's Supervisory Board member Karl-Heinz Rummenigge stated that the club prioritizes rewarding the player with a new contract.
“Olise is under contract until 2029. At some point, the club will present him with an appropriate offer. He is exceptional in his position,” Rummenigge remarked.
This summer, there were rumors of Olise potentially moving to Real Madrid. The newspaper L'Equipe reported that the 24-year-old discussed this with his fellow French national team players Kylian Mbappe and Aurelien Tchouameni during the World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
His current contract lacks a release clause, allowing Bayern to prevent his departure this summer.
Speculations of a transfer were dismissed by both Real Madrid and Bayern's sporting director, Max Eberl.
